In Oporto, there are places like this: irresistible and romantic. Surrounded by lush green gardens and situated in the old tennis court, the Serralves Tea House offers a unique atmosphere. With interior room and terrace, it’s a place to enjoy before or after a raid by the exhibits and gardens of the Foundation.
Its environment, sophisticated and intimate, invites to settle and let yourself get to enjoy a book together with one of the wines of Douro’s surroundings and ambient music.
Inside, there is an area with books and magazines available for reading. Since late January, the last Saturday of every month, the House offers "Tea Leaves", an initiative that takes place between 15.30 and 17.30, writers, researchers and teachers of literature meet, sharing readings and conversations.
The programming of this cycle is the responsibility of Joana Matos Frias, professor at the Faculty of Letters of the Oporto University.
The event is free, with reservation, and may be accompanied by a unique menu: infusions and teas, light snacks, fresh juices, homemade scones, traditional cakes, among many other suggestions.
There, you may still lurk a store gourmet teas, snacks, wines and homemade jams.
