SEA LIFE Center The SEA LIFE Aquarium Center is a public access space, located in the Oporto City Park, next to Gonçalves Zarco Plaza. It occupies an area of 2400 square meters, housing about 5.800 marine creatures, belonging to more than one hundred different species, in 31 aquariums. The largest one - the "Kingdom of Neptune " - has a tunnel that visitors can walk through.
On display, there are sharks (black tips, zebra and nurse), rays, seahorses and tropical fish specimens, as well as native species such as the Douro river barbel, trout, carp and minnows. The Oporto SEA LIFE transports you to a magical dimension where the most beautiful, bizarre and fascinating creatures live. You can see them so close that you can almost touch them, in environments designed to make the experience to be lived as if, in fact, you plunged in its natural habitat. The SEA LIFE plays a dual role in the oceans and in the future generations preservation. In addition to provide thousands of people a unique experience of discovering the wonders of the marine world, promotes its conservation, through social awareness and education.
This aquarium also promotes lectures on the species, its characteristics, habitats and secrets, daily, from 11.00, in the Oceans Grotto or in the Ray Bay.
Opening hours: Monday to Friday, from 10h00 to 18h00; Saturday and Sunday from 10h00 to 19h00.
